Life In A Tree was just nominated by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) as the 2016 'Best Indie Rock Band' & 'Best Female Vocalist' along with nominations in 2015 as ‘Rising Stars’. They are the youngest band ever to be nominated in both 2016 categories. This group of youngsters have been performing all around Wisconsin since 8th grade, mastering their catchy hooks, ingenious songwriting and diverse vocals that have helped set this Wisconsin based teen-band apart. They have created a unique blend of emo-indie rock that resonates a deeper undertone of life as a teenager, which serves as a reminder to us all the impact of those most formidable growing years. They are currently in studio recording their third album. They got their start all the way back in second grade when guitarists Tyler Miller & DJ Underwood started lessons together. After playing for their elementary choir, the local newspaper described them as “so gifted, no other music was required to accompany what they do." In middle school they added Bonham-style drummer Jimmy Cooper and fourth generational singer Molly Lutz and Life In A Tree was born. Still incredibly young but with musical talents well-beyond their years they started playing live across Wisconsin impressing audiences of all-ages. With their fan-base expanding daily, they continued to write & rehearse; perfecting their songs that would later be the musical backbone of future albums. While looking further to distinguish & diversify their sound they added keyboardist Andrew Conley (son of a long-time local professional keyboardist). They have since performed several times at Summerfest (aka..World Largest Music Festival) as one of the youngest bands ever to play on the main stages, also playing at Harley Davidson’s 110th anniversary, Bastille Days, Wisconsin State Fair, Budweiser Pavilion, Summer Sounds Concert series, Steel Bridge Songfest, Oktoberfest, Trek Bicycles pro-event and many other festivals and venues. They have been blessed to share the stage with many national touring acts and have enjoyed telling their story during several Radio & TV interviews. They have also gone on to bring home several accolades, winning both the (adult) Battle of The Bands at Miramar Theatre as well as the Oktoberfest/BMO Harris Bank 'Battle of Bands' contest. Their mature live performances and memorable songs are direct and appealing, yet showcase a sophistication that goes way beyond their years. After seeing them perform live once, you will agree their age becomes irrelevant except as a good press angle.
